So many downtowns were devastated by the COVID related shutdowns—San Francisco certainly being one city severely affected by the mass exodus of its residents. Many hotels and restaurants shuttered their doors for what they thought would be two weeks, never to reopen. However, one prominent address in the heart of San Francisco was fortunate to have recently reopened this month. The Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco has reopened, and it is worth a visit.
Where is the Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco?
The Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco is located in the Yerba Buena neighborhood, just across the streets from the normally packed Moscone Conference Center.
While these days the neighborhood is still a lot quieter than it was in 2019, the vibrancy is coming back and the team at the Four Seasons is ready to welcome back both business and leisure travelers once again.
Why should you visit?
Poised as the perfect executive getaway or home away from home, the Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco rooms and suites were updated in 2018 taking inspiration from San Francisco’s ‘fog, mist, redwood trees and waters of the Pacific Ocean,’ according to the General Manager Konrad Gstrein. The palate is light and airy, with touches of blue amongst cool neutral tones, making for a soothing ambiance. Many rooms have views of the Bay, skyline and Yerba Buena Gardens as well.
Apart from the views and furnishings, the hotel is located in the heart of the city, putting guests within walking distance of lots of high-end shopping, dining and nightlife. With San Francisco’s crowds still waning, now is the prefect time to come visit for a Pacific coast getaway. Whether you want to snap some pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge or ride a Cable Car, summers in San Francisco are cool and breezy. So, it also makes for a great destination for travelers looking to escape the oppressive late summer heat that you find in many parts of the country.
Dine at MKT
The team used the downtime during the pandemic to completely revamp the food and beverage offerings at their signature restaurant MKT. Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and late-night drinks, MKT offers its own spin on lots of classics. There is a fanatical focus on sourcing local ingredients. Everything from the seafood to the poultry to the veggies are as locally sourced as possible—making things like the Grilled Monterey Squid and the French Onion Truffle Fries refreshing changes of pace when stopping in for a business meal.
The cocktail list received the same top to bottom refresh as well. The team behind the bar spent the past year reimagining classic drinks like lychee martinis, whiskey sours and more. Their versions exhibit luxury via exquisite flavors and interesting ingredient pairings. Must trys right now include the 24 Carrot and the Fog City.
Also, don’t skip breakfast either, enjoy Chef’s creations in the morning as well, the Bacon & Cheddar ‘Croffle,’ which is a waffle—croissant combination, is certainly worth a taste and the selection of cold pressed juice is the perfect foil to the indulgent side of the menu.
