Here’s 3 Steps To On-Point Brows

Benefit Cosmetics is know for its best-selling range of brow products, from microfilling pencils to pomades, volumizing gels and pro palette sets, Benefit has you covered. Still unsure about how to shape and maintain your brows? Well, you’re not the only one, and the makeup brand also offers a whole host of in-store brow services, with expert tips and ticks to help you set your brow style.

Laurretta Power, National Brow Artist & Head of Artistry at Benefit Cosmetics shares her step-by-step guide to achieving on-point brows.

Step 1: See a Brow Specialist/ Pop to the Brow Bar

I would always recommend starting with a professional brow tint and wax. Whether you’re a brow novice or pro, a Brow Expert can create the perfect shape for you to follow and also offer bespoke product recommendations tailored to your brow needs. If you prefer a natural look, a tint and wax will enhance your brows – simply add a clear gel to keep the hairs in place all day.

Step 2: The Perfect Shape / Get in Shape

The secret to a perfect shape is learning where your brows should start, arch and end. The start of the brow should run parallel to the nose dimple and the arch should sit diagonally across the pupil from the nose.

Your brow should end at the diagonal point from the tip of the nose to the outer corner of the eye.

Mapping out your brows using this method will frame your face perfectly, lifting the cheeks, slimming the nose and elongating the eyes.

Step 3: Pick of the Products / Product Picks

With so many products available, it can be challenging to choose the right ones to boost your brow game. For the most natural finish, mix and match your brow products and formulas to create a 3D effect with plenty of definition.

A pencil can achieve precision, shape and structure but worn alone can look unnatural. Apply a volumising brow gel to create texture and depth.

Brow powders have a much softer finish which makes them perfect for shading or filling-in larger areas. Use a pencil to add hair-like strokes on top of the powder to cheat texture.

Pomades are creamier and more pigmented than pencils and powders making them great for creating shape in sparse areas. They are also super long-lasting with little chance of them fading throughout the day. For extra lasting power, use a clear brow gel. This will keep your brows on point through the toughest gym sessions and longest nights out!
