Blog: PA Media Sport at SPORTEL 2021

After an 18 month’s hiatus due to Coronavirus lockdown measures, SPORTEL, the trade show for the sports industry was back! With the excitement of face-to-face networking back on the agenda, Ronald Adjekwei, Sport Sales Executive at PA Media tells us all about the event.

This was going to be my first time at SPORTEL, and I was excited and intrigued about attending the event, even though I’d worked at many trade shows in the past.

These sentiments were echoed by the PA Media and Sport Sales team who were attending the event as this was going to be their first face-to-face conference as we’ve been presenting virtually since the start of the pandemic. With two-days of back-to-back meetings, I had a busy schedule ahead of me and was raring to go.

SPORTEL is one of the biggest global B2B trade shows for the sports media and sports tech industry, but this year’s event was scaled down with only one exhibition floor, nevertheless it was still really busy with a great atmosphere. I think many of the exhibitors and delegates were just pleased to be networking again and quite a few mentioned to me that it was their first time at the conference.

PA Media’s Commercial Director for Digital, Media and Sport, Matt Davis is interviewed by the SPORTEL Media team at SPORTEL 2021.

PA Media’s exhibition stand was set-up next to the networking area which was a great spot as it positioned us right at the hub and attracted a lot of attention from people who came across it. Delegates were pleasantly surprised to discover our extensive range of sport coverage which spans both major leagues and tournaments in the UK and internationally and includes football, golf, US and women’s sport and more, and our range of products which include editorial, data, video, images and graphics. And with the World Cup and the Beijing Olympic Winter Games in 2022, it’ll be another busy year for PA Media Sport.

Delegates were also impressed with how easy the PA Ready and video platforms were to use during our presentations and we received a lot of interest in our products and services with businesses really excited about working with us.

Overall, I had a fantastic time at SPORTEL Monaco 2021 networking with new business opportunities and discovering more about the latest trends in the sports media and sports tech industry. I’m really looking forward to returning to SPORTEL in 2022, but if you can’t wait until next year’s event to meet us, discover more about bringing our sport content to your audiences here.
