Health Minister Greg Hunt says Australia’s “great and abiding national achievement” is having one of the highest vaccination rates in the world.
“Australia has been magnificent – and what that means is we now have a vaccination rate of 91 and-a-half per cent first dose, of 85.1 per cent second dose,” Mr Hunt said during Question Time on Monday.
He said over 99 per cent of over-70s have come forward to be vaccinated in “numbers beyond imagination”.
“And we will continue to do this.
“We will continue with that vaccination program now with one of the world’s earliest whole-of-nation booster programs.”
