Governments around the world have a ‘debt addiction’

The Australian’s Washington correspondent Adam Creighton says there is certainly a debt addiction in governments around the world.

“It’s just extraordinary. We saw those figures this week of the US government debt surpassing $30 trillion,” Mr Creighton told Sky News Australia.

“And $7 trillion of that was just in the last two years.”
