MARSEILLE have reached an agreement to sign Alexis Sanchez on a free transfer.
The Chilean is set to undergo a medical after agreeing personal terms with the Ligue 1 side.
They wrote on their official website: “Olympique de Marseille and Alexis Sanchez have agreed on a transfer on principle
“The Chilean international with 143 caps, who won 17 trophies in his career, will commit himself to Olympique in the next few hours after passing his medical tests.”
Sanchez joined Inter, initially on loan from Man United, in 2019.
He made 108 appearances for the San Siro club, scoring 20 times.
After spells in Chile, Argentina, Spain, England and Italy he is set for his first taste of French football.
Sanchez will become Marseille’s 11th signing of a busy summer transfer window.
Their other acquisitions include Arsenal duo Nuno Tavares and Matteo Guendouzi.
Manager Jorge Sampaoli left them in the lurch by parting ways with them in a shock exit last month.
He was replaced by Croatian former Verona boss Igor Tudor, who got off to a dream start on Monday night.
Marseille thumped Reims 4-1 at Stade Velodrome, with Wout Faes’ own goal setting them on their way before a Tavares effort and a double by Luis Suarez.
