Ravensbourne partners with OIEG on applications

The company’s Education Services business unit – launched in late 2021 – will seek to increase the digital media and design university’s international student intake and “help students enjoy an even smoother application journey”.

Vice chancellor of Ravensbourne Andy Cook noted that the partnership will “help to alleviate the process for our staff as well as improve the experience for prospective students during the application journey”.

The partnership is aiming to grow the international student population at the university’s campus on the Greenwich Peninsula in London by 200% by FY23.

“With a focus on design and information technology, we look forward to welcoming the next generation of talent from across the globe – integral to a post-pandemic economic recovery – with more ease than ever,” Cook added.

Stakeholders have previously said that communication and speed is ‘key’ in regards to the conversion of students. Some 25 UK university have turned to white-label products and other services from QS Enrolment Solutions in a bid to increase and improve their admissions services.

While others have pointed to the increased expectations of applicants, OIEG chief development officer David Pilsbury highlighted that universities are facing a “greater regulatory burden imposed by the UK Home Office”.

“We streamlined the student processing service to enable universities to focus on their core offerings”

“Our approach is operationally simple by design,” he said of OIEG’s solution. “We streamlined the student processing service to enable universities to focus on their core offerings while we look after their backend recruitment.”

The global team of 60+ employees across the UK, India and Hong Kong provide on the ground support and infrastructure, OIEG noted.

“Our solution ensures institutions can remain fully compliant, with robust quality controls,” Pilsbury continued.

“We’re thrilled that Ravensbourne University London is partnering with us to broaden educational opportunities for students worldwide.”
