South Australian teen who attended nightclub while COVID-19 positive arrested

Today officers arrested Ralph MacIntosh from Kensington Park and charged him with failing to comply with directions under the state’s Emergency Management Act.

Police will allege Mr MacIntosh remained at Adelaide nightclub Loverboy on December 17 after he was informed by SA Health that he had returned a positive COVID-19 test.

Following his attendance at Loverboy, 150 patrons and staff who were at the nightclub were forced into isolation and the club had to close its doors as a result.

The maximum penalty for the charge carries a $20,000 fine or up to two years in prison.

Emerging from the police city watchhouse on Tuesday, Mr MacIntosh refused to answer questions.
