Xbox owner Microsoft buys ‘Call of Duty’ developer

Xbox parent company Microsoft has bought game developer Activision Blizzard for US$68.7 billion in a “huge deal” for the technology industry, according to The Australian’s Chris Griffith.

“It ticks a lot of boxes for Microsoft in the more tangible gaming space, Xbox for a lot of years really struggled against Playstation, Sony Playstation, more recent times had been doing better,” he told Sky News Australia.

“This, of course, gives them a big lift up because to have proprietary games like ‘Call of Duty’ and all the others by Activision Blizzard will be a huge shot in the arm for Microsoft.”
